Free ATS Resume Checker for Full Stack Developers

Recruiters hiring full stack developers usually shortlist on a clear stack - such as MERN, Java with Angular, or Next.js with Node.js - and then look for features you delivered across the UI, API and database. Upload your resume to see how it reads, which full stack skills it shows, and what to improve before you apply.

By uploading, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. Your CV is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in it, and that profile is visible to recruiters - even before you create an account.

What to highlight at your experience level

Fresher / 0-2 years

Name your stack plainly and show 2-3 deployed projects that go from UI to API to database, with live and GitHub links. One complete app with login and real data beats several half-built ones.

2-5 years

Show features you owned end to end in production - the screen, the API, the schema and the deployment - and what changed for users. Make it clear whether you lean frontend or backend.

5+ years

Show architecture and ownership across the stack - choices of frameworks, data models, CI/CD and cloud setup - plus the product decisions you influenced and the developers you guided.

Common Full Stack Developer resume mistakes

  • Listing every frontend and backend tool you know, which makes it hard to tell what your actual stack is. Group them and lead with what you use daily.
  • Projects that only show one side - a full stack resume should include work that touches both the interface and the server.
  • No deployment details. Saying where and how the app runs (Vercel, AWS, Docker) shows you can ship, not just code locally.
  • Calling yourself full stack while every bullet is about UI or every bullet is about APIs. Recruiters notice the mismatch.
  • Skill logos, progress bars and two-column templates. ATS tools often can't read them - plain text headings work better.

Weak vs strong resume bullet points

The strong versions say what you did, with which tool, and what changed because of it.

Weak: Developed a full stack web application using MERN stack.

Strong: Built a clinic appointment app with React, Node.js and MongoDB, including OTP login and slot booking, now used by 4 clinics to manage about 600 bookings a month.

Weak: Handled both frontend and backend tasks.

Strong: Delivered the vendor onboarding feature end to end - Angular forms, Spring Boot APIs and MySQL schema - cutting onboarding from a week of emails to a same-day flow.

Weak: Deployed the application on cloud.

Strong: Containerised the Next.js frontend and Express API with Docker and set up GitHub Actions to deploy to AWS on every merge, replacing manual FTP uploads.

Frequently asked questions

Which stack should a full stack developer resume focus on?

Lead with the stack you have used most and that matches the jobs you are applying for, such as MERN or Java with Angular or React. Mentioning a second stack is fine, but keep it secondary. Recruiters search by specific tools, so name them exactly.

How can a fresher full stack developer stand out?

Ship one or two complete apps with authentication, a real database and a live deployment, and link both the app and the code. Write a short README explaining the architecture. This shows more than a long list of courses or certificates.

Is this resume checker free?

Yes. You can upload your resume and see the results without creating an account. If you sign up later with the same email, the full report and your job matches are saved to your profile.

What does the checker look at?

It reads your resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would: the role it fits, your experience level, the skills it finds, and how clearly your work and results come across. You get strengths and areas to improve.

What happens to my resume after I upload it?

It is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in your resume, and that profile is visible to recruiters looking for candidates. We email that address a link to remove it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
