Free ATS Resume Checker for IT Support Engineers
Recruiters hiring IT support engineers look at the support level you work at (L1, L2 or L3), the tools and systems you handle - Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Intune, ticketing tools - and how well you meet SLAs. Upload your resume to see how it reads, which support skills it finds, and what to improve before you apply.
By uploading, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. Your CV is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in it, and that profile is visible to recruiters - even before you create an account.

What to highlight at your experience level
Fresher / 0-2 years
Show the issues you can fix - OS installs, printers, email, VPN, password resets - and the ticketing tool you have used. Mention ITIL 4 Foundation or a CompTIA A+ if you have them.
2-5 years
Show L2 work such as Active Directory and Group Policy, Intune device management, Microsoft 365 administration and escalations you resolved. Mention the number of users you supported and your SLA record.
5+ years
Show ownership of the service desk or end-user computing - process improvement, knowledge base, automation with scripts, asset management and vendor coordination. Mention the team you led and service metrics you improved.
Common IT Support Engineer resume mistakes
- Describing duties ("attended calls, resolved tickets") with no volume, systems or SLA results.
- Not stating your support level. L1, L2 and L3 roles are hired separately.
- Leaving out the tools - ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Freshservice, SCCM, Intune. Recruiters search for them.
- Hiding certifications at the bottom of a long resume. Put them near your summary.
- Sending a Word file full of text boxes and shapes that ATS software may skip. A plain single-column PDF works better.
Weak vs strong resume bullet points
The strong versions say what you did, with which tool, and what changed because of it.
Weak: Resolved user tickets.
Strong: Handled around 40 L1/L2 tickets a day in ServiceNow for a 1,500-user client, keeping SLA compliance above the agreed target every month.
Weak: Managed laptops using Intune.
Strong: Enrolled 600 laptops into Microsoft Intune with Autopilot, so new joiners received ready-to-use devices on day one instead of waiting for manual setup.
Weak: Wrote knowledge articles.
Strong: Wrote 30 knowledge base articles for common VPN and Outlook issues, which let L1 close more tickets without escalating to L2.

Which certifications help an IT support resume?
ITIL 4 Foundation is widely asked for in service desk roles in India. CompTIA A+ is useful for freshers, and Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate help for L2 roles that manage devices and users.
How can I move from IT support to cloud or system administration?
Show the admin work you already do, such as Active Directory, Microsoft 365 or server tasks, and add scripting with PowerShell. A cloud fundamentals certification and a small hands-on project can help your resume show the direction you are moving in.
Is this resume checker free?
Yes. You can upload your resume and see the results without creating an account. If you sign up later with the same email, the full report and your job matches are saved to your profile.
What does the checker look at?
It reads your resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would: the role it fits, your experience level, the skills it finds, and how clearly your work and results come across. You get strengths and areas to improve.
What happens to my resume after I upload it?
It is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in your resume, and that profile is visible to recruiters looking for candidates. We email that address a link to remove it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
