Free ATS Resume Checker for Data Analysts
Recruiters hiring data analysts usually shortlist on tools first - SQL, Excel, Power BI or Tableau - and then look for proof that you turned data into decisions. Upload your resume to see how it reads, which data analyst skills it shows, and what to improve before you apply.
By uploading, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. Your CV is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in it, and that profile is visible to recruiters - even before you create an account.

What to highlight at your experience level
Fresher / 0-2 years
Lead with SQL and Excel, then one BI tool (Power BI or Tableau). Projects count - a dashboard built on a public dataset, with the question it answered, is worth more than a list of courses.
2-5 years
Show ownership of reports and dashboards that people actually used - who used them, how often, and what changed because of them. Mention data cleaning, validation and working with stakeholders to define KPIs.
5+ years
Show scope and influence - metrics you defined, analyses that changed a business decision, the data models behind your dashboards, and analysts you guided or reviewed.
Common Data Analyst resume mistakes
- Listing tools with no outcome - "Power BI, SQL, Excel" without saying what you analysed or what it changed.
- No numbers. "Built dashboards" says much less than "built a weekly sales dashboard used by 12 regional managers".
- Job titles that hide the work - if your title was "MIS Executive", make the analysis work obvious in the bullets.
- Using tables, text boxes or two-column layouts that ATS software can misread. A simple single-column PDF is safest.
- Leaving out the business area - sales, finance, supply chain, marketing. Recruiters often filter by domain too.
Weak vs strong resume bullet points
The strong versions say what you did, with which tool, and what changed because of it.
Weak: Created reports in Excel and Power BI.
Strong: Built a Power BI sales dashboard for 12 regional managers, replacing a manual Excel report and cutting weekly reporting time from about 6 hours to under 1.
Weak: Worked on SQL queries for data extraction.
Strong: Wrote SQL queries joining orders, returns and inventory tables to find the top reasons for returns, which led to a packaging change for two product lines.
Weak: Did data cleaning.
Strong: Set up validation checks in Power Query that caught duplicate and missing customer records before month-end reporting, so finance stopped re-running reports.

Create a free accountFrequently asked questions
Which skills should a data analyst resume include?
Most data analyst roles ask for SQL, Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and at least one BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. Python, statistics and domain knowledge help for many roles. Only list skills you can talk about in an interview.
Should a fresher data analyst resume be one page?
Usually yes. One page with your skills, 2-3 strong projects and your education is enough. Put the projects that are closest to the jobs you are applying for first.
Is this resume checker free?
Yes. You can upload your resume and see the results without creating an account. If you sign up later with the same email, the full report and your job matches are saved to your profile.
What does the checker look at?
It reads your resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would: the role it fits, your experience level, the skills it finds, and how clearly your work and results come across. You get strengths and areas to improve.
What happens to my resume after I upload it?
It is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in your resume, and that profile is visible to recruiters looking for candidates. We email that address a link to remove it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
