Free ATS Resume Checker for Presales Consultants

Recruiters hiring presales consultants look for the solutions you have sold, the RFPs and demos you handled, and the deals you helped win - along with enough technical depth to talk to a customer's IT team. Upload your resume to see how it reads, which presales skills it shows, and what to improve before you apply.

What to highlight at your experience level

Fresher / 0-2 years

Show technical knowledge and communication together - product demos you gave, RFP sections you wrote, or a technical or support role where you explained solutions to customers.

2-5 years

Show the RFPs and proposals you led, the demos and proofs of concept you ran, and the deal values you supported. Mention the products, platforms or industries you specialise in.

5+ years

Show the large deals you shaped, the win rate or pipeline you supported, and the presales team or bid process you ran. Recruiters look for how you worked with sales leaders and customers' CXOs.

Common Presales Consultant resume mistakes

  • Writing it like a pure technical resume - recruiters also want to see deals, customers and how you supported sales.
  • Not naming the solutions or platforms - ERP, cloud, cybersecurity, data platforms or a specific product - you presented and sold.
  • Leaving out deal sizes and outcomes. Say the value of deals you supported and whether they were won.
  • Listing RFPs without your role. Say whether you led the response, wrote the technical solution or handled pricing.
  • Using tables, icons or two-column layouts that ATS software can misread. A simple single-column PDF is safest.

Weak vs strong resume bullet points

The strong versions say what you did, with which tool, and what changed because of it.

Weak: Prepared RFP responses.

Strong: Led technical responses for 20+ RFPs a year for cloud migration deals at an IT services company, including solution design and effort estimates, contributing to wins worth about USD 6 million.

Weak: Gave product demos to customers.

Strong: Ran tailored demos and a 3-week proof of concept of a SaaS HRMS for a 5,000-employee manufacturing client, covering payroll and attendance integrations, which converted into a multi-year contract.

Weak: Supported sales team with solutions.

Strong: Worked with account managers in BFSI to map client requirements to our data platform, built TCO comparisons against competitors and helped move 4 stalled deals to closure in one quarter.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move into presales from a technical role?

Highlight work where you explained technology to non-technical people - client calls, demos, solution documents or helping sales with technical questions. A relevant product or cloud certification can help, along with clear examples of your communication skills.

Should a presales resume include deal values?

Yes, where you can share them. Recruiters want to know the size of deals you supported and whether they were won. If figures are confidential, use ranges or describe the scale, such as the client size or contract length.

Is this resume checker free?

Yes. You can upload your resume and see the results without creating an account. If you sign up later with the same email, the full report and your job matches are saved to your profile.

What does the checker look at?

It reads your resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would: the role it fits, your experience level, the skills it finds, and how clearly your work and results come across. You get strengths and areas to improve.

What happens to my resume after I upload it?

It is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in your resume, and that profile is visible to recruiters looking for candidates. We email that address a link to remove it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
