Free ATS Resume Checker for Scrum Masters

Recruiters hiring Scrum Masters look for certifications such as CSM, PSM I or SAFe, the number and type of teams you have supported, and evidence that delivery got better because of you. Upload your resume to see how it reads, which Agile skills it finds, and what to improve before you apply.

By uploading, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. Your CV is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in it, and that profile is visible to recruiters - even before you create an account.

What to highlight at your experience level

Fresher / 0-2 years

Show the Scrum events you ran for one team and the tools you used, such as Jira and Confluence. If you are moving from development, testing or BA work, show where you already facilitated or coordinated.

2-5 years

Show the teams you served - size, product, distributed or not - and the improvements you drove, such as steadier velocity, fewer carry-over stories or better retrospectives. Mention Kanban or scaled frameworks if you have used them.

5+ years

Show work across multiple teams or an Agile Release Train - PI Planning, dependency management, coaching Product Owners and managers. Mention Agile transformation work and the measures you used to show progress.

Common Scrum Master resume mistakes

  • Describing only ceremonies ("conducted daily stand-ups") with no change in how the team delivered.
  • Listing certifications without the full name - "CSM" and "PSM I" are fine, but also write "Certified ScrumMaster" and "Professional Scrum Master I".
  • Not saying how many teams or people you worked with.
  • Using Agile buzzwords without examples. One concrete improvement is worth more than five buzzwords.
  • Putting key details in headers, footers or a photo-heavy layout that ATS tools may ignore. Keep important text in the main body.

Weak vs strong resume bullet points

The strong versions say what you did, with which tool, and what changed because of it.

Weak: Conducted Scrum ceremonies for the team.

Strong: Ran Scrum for two teams of 8 on a banking app, and through better backlog refinement cut stories carried over between sprints from about a third to under 10%.

Weak: Removed impediments.

Strong: Set up a weekly dependency sync with the API team and the client's security team, unblocking releases that had slipped for three sprints in a row.

Weak: Used Jira for tracking.

Strong: Rebuilt Jira boards and dashboards around cycle time and flow, giving the client's delivery head a clear weekly view instead of a manual status deck.

Frequently asked questions

Which is better on a resume, CSM or PSM I?

Both are well recognised. Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from Scrum Alliance includes a course, and Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) from Scrum.org is an assessment without a mandatory course. Many job descriptions in India mention either, and SAFe Scrum Master or SAFe Agilist helps for scaled Agile roles.

Can a developer or tester become a Scrum Master?

Yes, it is a common path. Show the facilitation, coordination and mentoring you already do in your current role, get a CSM or PSM I, and describe any time you ran stand-ups, retrospectives or sprint planning.

Is this resume checker free?

Yes. You can upload your resume and see the results without creating an account. If you sign up later with the same email, the full report and your job matches are saved to your profile.

What does the checker look at?

It reads your resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would: the role it fits, your experience level, the skills it finds, and how clearly your work and results come across. You get strengths and areas to improve.

What happens to my resume after I upload it?

It is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in your resume, and that profile is visible to recruiters looking for candidates. We email that address a link to remove it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
