Free ATS Resume Checker for Product Managers
Recruiters hiring product managers look for proof that you shipped things and moved a metric - not just that you wrote PRDs or ran sprints. They also check for product analytics, user research and how you worked with engineering and design. Upload your resume to see how it reads, which product manager skills it shows, and what to improve before you apply.
By uploading, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. Your CV is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in it, and that profile is visible to recruiters - even before you create an account.

What to highlight at your experience level
Fresher / 0-2 years
Show product thinking with whatever you have - a feature teardown, a case study, an internship where you spoke to users, or a side project you launched. Include the tools you used, such as Figma, Jira and SQL, and the problem each piece of work addressed.
2-5 years
Name the features or products you owned end to end, the metric each one targeted and what happened after launch. Mention how you prioritised, the research behind decisions and the teams you worked with.
5+ years
Show scope - the product area or P&L you owned, the roadmap and strategy you set, launches that changed revenue or retention, and PMs you hired or mentored. Recruiters also look for how you aligned leadership and handled trade-offs.
Common Product Manager resume mistakes
- Describing activities instead of outcomes - "wrote PRDs and groomed the backlog" tells a recruiter what every PM does, not what you achieved.
- Taking credit vaguely for team results. Say what you decided or drove, and what engineering and design built with you.
- No metrics at all. Product roles are judged on adoption, conversion, retention or revenue - name the one your work moved.
- Hiding product work under another title. If you were a business analyst or engineer doing product work, make that clear in the bullets.
- Using heavily designed templates with icons, sidebars and skill bars that ATS software can misread. A simple single-column PDF is safest.
Weak vs strong resume bullet points
The strong versions say what you did, with which tool, and what changed because of it.
Weak: Responsible for the onboarding feature.
Strong: Redesigned the signup and KYC onboarding flow for a fintech app after 15 user interviews and Mixpanel funnel analysis, raising completed onboarding from 41% to 58% in two months.
Weak: Worked with engineering team on releases.
Strong: Ran fortnightly releases with a team of 6 engineers and 1 designer in Jira, introducing a RICE-based backlog review that cut unplanned scope changes mid-sprint.
Weak: Did A/B testing to improve conversion.
Strong: Set up A/B tests on the checkout page of a D2C site, testing COD messaging and delivery dates; the winning variant lifted checkout conversion by about 9% and was rolled out to all users.

How do I show product sense on a fresher PM resume?
Add 1-2 product case studies or side projects: the user problem, how you researched it, what you would build and how you would measure it. Link to a short write-up or Notion page. Internships or college projects where you spoke to real users count too.
Do I need an MBA to get a product manager job in India?
No. Many PMs move in from engineering, design, analytics or business roles. An MBA can help for some companies, but shipped work, clear metrics and strong product thinking on your resume matter more for most roles.
Is this resume checker free?
Yes. You can upload your resume and see the results without creating an account. If you sign up later with the same email, the full report and your job matches are saved to your profile.
What does the checker look at?
It reads your resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would: the role it fits, your experience level, the skills it finds, and how clearly your work and results come across. You get strengths and areas to improve.
What happens to my resume after I upload it?
It is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in your resume, and that profile is visible to recruiters looking for candidates. We email that address a link to remove it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
